Plan routes
What is a route?
A route is a set of customers visited by one rep, spread across the days of the week in a suggested order. The app builds the day's customer list from it.
Creating a route
- Open Routes and click Add Route.
- Under Route details, enter the Code and name, and choose the Default day.
- Under Assignment, choose the Default rep and Default van.
- Click Create Route.
Adding customers to days
You have three ways:
- From the route page: open the route, choose the day, search for a customer and click Add. The Customers by day section and the Day map show how they are spread.
- From the customer page: under Routing, choose the Route and Day.
- In bulk: in Customers, select several customers, choose Assign route, then the route and the Visit day.
A newly assigned customer goes to the end of that day's list. You can reorder the day's customers from the route page with the move up and move down arrows.
How the rep uses the plan
- When the journey opens, the system stores a fixed snapshot of that day's route customers and their order. Later route edits do not change an open journey.
- The order is advisory; the rep may visit in a different order.
- Deleted customers are left out of the plan.
Follow-up and alerts
- In Journeys → (journey) → Plan and actual you see who was visited and who was not.
- In Settings → Field operations, set the Company start time. If that time passes and a rep with customers on today's route has not started, an alert arrives in Notifications. Leave it empty to turn that alert off.
- If a journey closes with planned customers still unvisited, an alert arrives too.
Tip
Start with one route and one rep for a week, and check "Plan and actual" daily before rolling out.
