Country pack
What is a country pack?
A country pack is a ready-made set of settings for each country: currency, the standard and special tax rates, phone number format and more. When your account is created, your country's pack is copied into it, so you do not need to set these values by hand.
How is my country chosen?
At sign-up, the system estimates your country from your internet connection. Check it once after your first login.
Checking or changing the country
- Open Settings, then the Country tab.
- You will see the current country. If it is right, do nothing.
- To change it, choose a country from the list, then click Change country.
- Read the confirmation dialog, then confirm.
What happens when you change it?
- Amounts are never converted: an amount of 100 stays 100; only the currency symbol changes.
- The new country's tax rate applies to documents issued from now on.
- Invoices issued earlier keep their original currency and tax; none of them is changed.
- Your subscription price does not change.
Currency only
To change the displayed currency symbol without changing country, use Settings → Locale & currency. This also never converts amounts.
Who can change it?
Changing the country needs permission to manage settings. Users without it see the current country but cannot edit it.
Tip
Change the country before your reps start issuing invoices, so all your documents share one currency and tax.
