Tax rules
How is tax calculated?
The server calculates the tax on each invoice line from your country pack and the product category's tax treatment. The rep's phone shows an estimated total; the total the server issues is the reference.
1. Is your company VAT-registered?
- Open Settings → Tax rules.
- The option The company is VAT-registered:
- On: invoices are issued with VAT.
- Off: new invoices, on the web and in the reps' app, are issued without VAT.
- Turning it off opens a confirmation dialog; click Turn off VAT to confirm.
The change is not retroactive: invoices issued earlier keep the tax they were issued with.
2. The default rate
The Default rate field shows the standard rate from your country pack, for display only.
3. Tax per category
Every product category has a tax treatment:
- Open Products → Categories, then the category, or Add category.
- Under Tax, choose:
- Standard: the country's standard rate.
- Reduced or Zero-rated: if your country pack includes them.
- Exempt (0%).
- Save.
A product takes its category's tax. If tax is turned off for the company, the field reads "Tax is disabled for this company".
What is not available yet?
The page shows Override rate and B2B reverse charge, but both are disabled at the moment and cannot be changed.
Tip
Check your category taxes before the first invoice. Issued invoices are never edited; they are corrected by cancelling and issuing a new one.
